The Red Devils are prepared to take the Gunners to the wire.
With reports circulating that Arsenal’s attempts to bring in Real Madrid’s Mesut Ozil have stalled over wage demands, Manchester United have entered the race for the German.

Ozil has become available to buy from the Santiago Bernabeu since Madrid completed the world record deal to bring Gareth Bale to the club from Tottenham Hotspur.
With Los Blancos paying £85.3m on Sunday for the Welsh wizard, the Spanish giants are now looking into making some of that money back and have already removed Kaka’s huge wages from the books by allowing the Brazilian to join former side AC Milan.
Now it seems to be the turn of Ozil, as despite the fact that the 24-year-old has provided 81 assists in 154 matches for Madrid since joining the club from Werder Bremen three years ago, with new signings Bale and Isco also at the Bernabeu the Germany international may find playing time hard to come by.
Therefore the Gunners made contact with Los Merengues to negotiate a deal in the region of £40m for the attacking midfielder, but are struggling to agree personal terms and the player is thought to be more interested in a switch to Old Trafford.
However, other reports are emerging that United are focusing their attention on previous targets Marouane Fellaini of Everton and Athletic Bilbao’s Ander Herrera – leaving Ozil free to become a star at the Emirates Stadium.
I am told #MUFC definitely NOT in for Mesut Özil. Working hard on deals for Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera. #DeadlineDay
