The president of Pedro Rodriguez’s first club has claimed that the Barcelona star’s mother has told him he is moving to Man United.
Louis Van Gaal has been heavily linked with a move for the Spanish winger, although Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu insisted this week that he has received no official bid for him.
However, the 28-year-old appears to be closer to Old Trafford than many believe as his mother gave the biggest hint yet that he will seeking a new challenge this summer.
“The other day, Pedro’s mother told me he was leaving for England,” Raqui San Isidro patron Jaime Lorenzo told El Larguero, as reported by Football Espana.
“I think it would be a good challenge for him and he will have more playing time.”
The Spanish international reportedly has a €30m release clause, with Lorenzo set to pocket part of the fee as part of the agreement with Barcelona.
Nevertheless, the attention will be focused on whether United now seal a deal for the winger as it looks as though Angel Di Maria is edging closer towards the exit door.
