However, the Belgian’s first-half opener was the highlight of an otherwise disappointing display in which he played a sloppy pass which led to Eric Dier’s equaliser on the stroke of half time.
Toby Alderweireld headed Spurs in front after the break, before Harry Kane’s first club goal of the season and a fine Erik Lamela effort sent White Hart Lane into dreamland.

GK: Willy Caballero – 4/10
In for Joe Hart, the Argentinian stopper had a woeful game in which he was arguably at fault for three of the goals after failing to command his area and deal with the threat.
RB: Bacary Sagna 5/10
Always a willing runner down the right flank, but as a collective defensive effort, Pellegrini will be disappointed with his back line this afternoon.
CB: Nicolas Otamendi – 5/10
Commanding at times, but the culpability of conceding four goals falls on his shoulders too which ensures that he rates poorly.
CB: Martin Demichelis 5/10
Stepping in for Vincent Kompany was always going to be a tough challenge and he was lucky not to be sent off in the second half.
LB: Aleksandar Kolarov – 5/10
Similarly to Sagna, Kolarov put in a shift on his flank, but it was a frustrating game for the Serbian and he won’t be pleased with his defensive performance.
