Reds keen to make move for former Arsenal star.
Liverpool are believed to be monitoring Emmanuel Adebayor’s situation at Tottenham as they weigh up whether to make a cut price move for him in the new year, according to CaughtOffside.
Manager Brendan Rodgers has been concerned by his side’s poor start to the season and has already been linked with a move for Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema, but now Adebayor’s contract situation means he may turn to the Spurs star as a cheaper alternative.
With Daniel Sturridge struggling to recover from an injury, and Mario Balotelli’s wayward form, Rodgers is aware that he will need more firepower to help fire the side through to the end of the campaign.
Adebayor is now in his final year of his contract with Spurs and though he has been a regular starter in their first team so far this season manager Mauricio Pochettino is thought to be open to moving him on in exchange for some cash that he can then reinvest in the squad.
