According to various press reports, Liverpool are making multiple bids for big name players right now, and the Daily Star reckons the Reds have approached Barcelona with an £18m proposal for Alexis Sanchez.
Brendan Rodgers’ side have also tabled a £20m bid for Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana, and a £10m offer for Bayer Leverkusen anchorman Emre Can – in an attempt to strengthen the squad ahead of 2014/15. Liverpool have qualified for next season’s Champions League, and are desperate to bolster their roster before the start of the campaign.
25-year-old Sanchez wants to quit Barcelona because he isn’t given the starts his form has deserved. Arsenal are also keen on the talented Chilean, but Liverpool are currently in pole position for his signature.
The South American did actually enjoy an excellent season with Barcelona when given the chance to play from the offset. He scored 19 in La Liga, and registered ten assists too – so undoubtedly has the pedigree to become a real star at Anfield.
