Several clubs enter the race for Anzhi’s Traore.
Anzhi Makhachkala striker Lucina Traore has been attracting the attention of several top sides after the Russian club decided to transfer-list all of their players.
In an effort to reduce costs, top names such as Samuel Eto’o, Willian and Lassana Diarra were all sold by Anzhi and Traore could be the next on the list.
Galatasaray and Liverpool are said to be leading the race after the 23-year-old scored 12 goals in 24 matches in the Russian league last term.
The forward’s agent Dmitry Selyuk has admitted that many sides are still in for the Ivory Coast international, with the Reds believed to be winning the race.
“I can’t deny that in the case of a decent proposal that suits both us and Anzhi, Lacina could still change club,” Selyuk was quoted by the Daily Express.
“The interest in Traore in Russia and Europe is quite large.
“Therefore, if we get a good offer in the winter I think the leadership of Anzhi will let him go.”
Brendan Rodgers is still open to improving the attacking line at Anfield, despite the impressive start to the season of Daniel Sturridge and the imminent return of Luis Suarez.
The Uruguayan is still being linked with a move away from Merseyside and with only Iago Aspas as back-up, Rodgers could well need some more support.
Traore joined Anzhi from Kuban Krasnodar last summer and as well as having a solid goal-scoring record for the club, has also netted four times in six caps for the Ivorian national team.
