The Brazilian re-signed with the La Liga club on a four-year contract today, only 12 months after leaving them for Stamford Bridge.
DONE DEAL: Chelsea agree terms with Atletico Madrid for Filipe Luis’ sale
He made just nine Premier League starts in Chelsea’s title-winning campaign, and Mourinho is already believed to have lined up Luis’s compatriot Telles as his replacement.
According to Sky Italia reporter Gianluca Di Marzio, the Blues are leading the race for the 22-year-old, who has also been linked with Serie A duo Juventus and Inter Milan.
Negotiations are said to be progressing well with Galatasaray, for whom Telles scored once in 22 Super Lig appearances last season, and he could arrive from Turkey imminently.
Chelsea had previously been tipped to move for Augsburg defender Baba Rahman, but now seem to have switched targets in the search for a new understudy to Cesar Azpilicueta.
