QPR midfielder Barton lays into Alexis Sanchez despite his fine start to the season.
Queens Park Rangers midfielder Joey Barton has become known for his outspoken opinions, but it is hard to agree with Barton’s latest assertion – that in-form Arsenal winger Alexis Sanchez only performs against weak Premier League opposition in the comfort of the Emirates Stadium.

The comments reported in the Mirror seem particularly off the mark considering the form that Sanchez has shown for Arsenal since he signed from Barcelona, with some notable displays that disprove Barton’s theory, and also his fine performances for Chile on the biggest stage of all at the World Cup.
Barton had labelled Sanchez as “inconsistent” before his summer move to the Gunners and the former Newcastle United star is sticking to his guns:
“I said he was inconsistent, from what I saw for Udinese and Barcelona. You see him now, great at home against a smaller side but disappears against Manchester United.”
