England came away from Turin with a hard fought 1-1 draw on Tuesday night and Roy Hodgson can be pleased that a largely second string side battled back after falling behind.
However, despite it being a friendly, there were some that performed better than others, and below are how we believe the team rated individually.
GK: Joe Hart – 7/10
Made a fine save from Marco Parolo’s long drive but was given no chance when Pelle scored.
RB: Nathaniel Clyne – 5/10
Not his finest performance. Showed great recovery pace but was caught out one too many times. Taken off at half time.
CB: Chris Smalling – 6/10
Taken off before half time after feeling unwell. Made some good interceptions before that, though.
CB: Phil Jagielka – 6/10
Played well generally, but didn’t get close enough to Pelle for the goal.
LB: Kieran Gibbs – 5/10
Frequently vulnerable defensively as England’s shape exposed him. Should have scored in the second half.
