Spaniard is understood to have completed tests with official announcement imminent.
Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has arrived in Rome and undergone his medical tests ahead of his move to Napoli being officially announced.
It is understood that Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain has now also arrived in the Italian capital ahead of finalising his move to the Partenopei, giving Napoli fans a double boost ahead of the new campaign after losing prolific striker Edinson Cavani to PSG last week.
The Spanish goalkeeper completed his tests around 14:00 local time and spoke through his representative about his excitement at being reunited with former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport.

It is understood that Reina was greeted by a number of Napoli fans on his arrival, but will return to Spain for the next few days to enjoy the remainder of his holidays before joining up with new team-mates at their Dimaro retreat ahead of the new season.
In contrast, Higuain is expected to take part in the same tests but will then go on to meet with Benitez and the players immediately, with Napoli fans already displaying banners showing him support at the training grounds.
With Reina set for a new adventure in Serie A, it is believed that his arrival will give the go ahead for former number one Morgan De Sanctis to complete his move to Roma after Napoli also signed Brazilian stopper Rafael earlier this month.
Nevertheless, it is an exciting day for Napoli fans as owner Aurelio De Laurentiis delivers on his promise to ensure that the club are competitive next season.
