James announces decision to return to the Cavaliers.
Following the announcement that LeBron James would be returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers next season, a number of memes have predictably surfaced.
The 29-year-old released a statement via Sports Illustrated revealing his decision to leave the Miami Heat in order to return ‘home’, and it is clear that he has unfinished business with the Cavs in terms of winning an NBA championship with the franchise.
Along with point guard Kyrie Irving, recent No.1 overall draft pick Andrew Wiggins and young talents such as Dion Waiters and Tristan Thompson, Cleveland have immediately emerged as a genuine contender next season.
Speculation suggests that they are also attempting to secure a trade deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves to acquire Kevin Love, but it remains to be seen whether or not that comes to fruition.
Meanwhile, James’ exit comes as a significant blow for the Heat who also face the prospect of seeing Chris Bosh leave the organisation to join the Houston Rockets who have offered him a max deal.
That would leave Dwyane Wade as the only surviving member of their previous Big Three, although reports are already emerging that the Chicago Bulls have made enquiries about his status moving forward.
Nevertheless, a number of photoshops and memes have emerged involving Cleveland and James, and here just a few of the best so far:
