England’s number one gifts Saints a goal at St Mary’s.
For a player regularly lorded as among the best in the world in his position, Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart certainly seems to make a fair few mistakes.
Just days after saving a Ronaldinho penalty for England against Brazil, Hart dropped this clanger against Southampton to allow the Mauricio Pochettino’s side to race into a shock 2-0 lead over the Premier League champions at St Mary’s.
The City stopper allowed Rickie Lambert’s shot to squirm through his legs and Jay Rodriguez reacted quickest to poke the ball home from close range.
It’s currently 2-1 but if Saints go on to get something out of this game, the title race will surely be as good as over – and Hart will be left a costly mistake.
