Chelsea have one of the largest squads in the Barclays Premier League. Here are five players who could leave Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window.
Chelsea have had an encouraging start to the Barclays Premier League season, and remain in a strong position in both the UEFA Champions League and FA Cup.
However, the Blues have a large squad, and manager Jose Mourinho may elect to trim some of the fat from the Stamford Bridge outfit.
Here are five players who appear surplus to requirements in west London.
Kevin De Bruyne
Despite earning praise from Jose Mourinho for his performances in pre-season and against Hull City at the start of the current campaign, Kevin De Bruyne is now far from a fixture in the Chelsea starting line-up.
The Belgium international has to find playing time somewhere in order to seal a place in his country’s 2014 FIFA World Cup squad, and after a tremendous season on loan with Werder Bremen in 2012-13, his stock remains high in the Bundesliga.
