Martinez has heaped praise on the Gunners and Ozil in particular.
Arsenal take on Everton in their Premier League clash and Toffees boss Roberto Martinez says the north London side are the best in the division because of Mesut Ozil.
The German signed for the Gunners on transfer deadline day for a club record fee of £42.4m and has since impressed greatly in English football.
Whilst Martinez’s team have also been in superb form, the Spaniard has admitted that Arsene Wenger has the best team in the league and that Ozil has made that possible.
“What is clear is that Arsenal are the best team in the league so far,” the 40-year-old was quoted by Goal.
“They haven’t got any weaknesses.
“I think the signing of Mesut Ozil galvanised the players and he’s got the best of certain players.”
Ozil has certainly been in good form since arriving at the Emirates Stadium, with the attacking midfielder leading the assists chart currently with six.
So far the 25-year-old has played 17 matches in all competitions for the club and scored three goals and provided nine assists.
It’s these performances, coupled with the improved form of the likes of Olivier Giroud, Aaron Ramsey and Wojciech Szczesny, that has propelled the side to where they are in the table.
A win over Martinez’s men would see them seize a seven point lead over nearest rivals Liverpool and Chelsea and help mark the team as genuine title contenders.
