Sterling and Henderson have earned an England start this evening…
Here’s the side we reckon England will start against Denmark in this evening’s Friendly…
GK) Fraser Forster
Roy Hodgson has hinted that he will rest Hart, Gerrard and Rooney, meaning Forster is likely to earn his solitary England cap so far. For the World Cup though, Jose Hart probably has the no.1 jersey tied down.
DR) Glen Johnson
Spurs fullback Kyle Walker is injured, meaning first-choice right-back Glen Johnson will definitely win his 50th cap against the Danes, Hodgson has confirmed.
DC) Gary Cahill
With Phil Jagielka injured, John Terry retired, and Rio Ferdinand way past his best, Cahill is actually the senior centre-back available to England right now. He will have to prove to Hodgson he can lead England’s back line, although his place in the World Cup side is pretty much assured.
DC) Chris Smalling
Smalling is likely to start next to Cahill at the back, with Steven Caulker possibly winning his second cap from the bench in the second half at some point.
DL) Leighton Baines
Teenage wonderkid Luke Shaw is unlikely to play from the beginning, meaning Baines will probably begin the match, as veteran option Ashley Cole has not been selected by his club side Chelsea for some time.
