Red Devils reportedly conclude £37m deal.
Manchester United look to have won the race for Mats Hummels’ signature as the Borussia Dortmund defender looks set to move in the summer, according to the Daily Star.
The German international centre-back, part of his country’s 2014 World Cup-winning squad, has long been on the Red Devils’ radar after his fine performances in the Bundesliga.
Arsenal, Barcelona and other clubs have also chased the 25-year-old, but it looks as though he will now join United for £37m as they complete a superb move to fix their leaky defence.
Louis van Gaal spent big on attacking players in the summer and is now keen to recruit world class additions at the back, with Hummels a top priority.
