The agent of Hajduk Split midfielder Mario Pasalic has revealed that his client is set to undergo a medical with Premier League giants Chelsea this summer ahead of completing his move to Stamford Bridge next season, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.
The Croatia Under-19 international has already signed a pre-contract agreement with the west London club worth just £1.6 million and now Pasalic will finalise his move to the Blues next month.
However, the player is not expected to remain in west London next campaign though, but will instead be shipped out on a season-long loan, most probably to a club in the Bundesliga, with Pasalic having been born in Mainz.
And the Croat’s agent, Ivica Loncar, has confirmed to newspaper 24sata: “Mario would like to stay at Hajduk as long as possible, but the contract is signed and we must respect the desire of the club.
“There is a chance [he will stay at Hajduk], but they are minimal. Mario will be in London at the end of May for a medical examination and then will know more about his future.
“[There are] several interested clubs from Italy, Germany and Spain, and it is possible that the first two weeks of preparation activity will be with Chelsea. But the decision is Jose Mourinho’s.”
Pasalic has scored 11 goals in just 26 league outings for his club so far this season.
