Great news for the Blues as a number of important players could be available.
Ahead of the Champions League semi-final second-leg with Atletico Madrid on Wednesday, four injured Chelsea stars have trained and could well feature, reports Goal.
Goalkeeper Petr Cech, captain John Terry, Eden Hazard and Samuel Eto’o were all in training for the Blues ahead of what could be their most important match of the season.
There were concerns ahead of the fixture at Stamford Bridge that Jose Mourinho would have a very limited choice of players to put in his starting XI.
Frank Lampard and John Obi Mikel are already suspended for the match, whilst Nemanja Matic and Mohamed Salah are both cup-tied.
That is why Mourinho said he would play a weakened team in the top of the table Premier League clash with Liverpool on Sunday – in which a number of first team stars were rested, but the west Londoners still triumphed 0-2 at Anfield.
Cech and Terry picked up their injuries in the first-leg with Atletico and the initial prognosis was that the duo would miss the remainder of the campaign.
Yet against the odds they have both been training with the rest of the squad, although whilst the skipper could play it’s expected Mark Schwarzer will still start between the sticks.
Hazard meanwhile has been absent since the first-leg of the quarter-final with Paris Saint-Germain and was not risked against the Reds at the weekend in order to be fit for this game.
Finally Eto’o has been struggling with an ongoing knee problem, but could now be in contention for a place upfront, competing with Demba Ba and Fernando Torres.
