Barcelona are confident their transfer ban will be overturned, and they’ll be allowed to move for Chelsea defender David Luiz, reports the Mirror.
The Catalan giants are banned from signing any players for 14 months, due to the cub breaking rules in regards to signing players under the age of 16.
However, Barcelona have appealed the decision, and believe they will have their transfer rights reinstalled.
If this occurs, their priority target will be a central defender, and Chelsea’s Brazilian is the player they most want.
The 26-year-old is technically excellent, although he’s struggled to get in Jose Mourinho’s side in his natural position because of the form of John Terry and Gary Cahill.
As a result, the Blues would be likely to entertain an offer of around £25m, which they will be then able to reinvest in the forward position.
