How the Blues are likely to start against the Turkish champions.
After Arsenal and Manchester City both lost last week, it’s the turn of Chelsea in the Champions League last-16 as they take on Galatasaray.
Unlike their Premier League counterparts the Blues will go into this match as favourites and here’s how fanatix thinks the west Londoners will line-up.
Goalkeeper – Petr Cech
With the Czech Republic No.1 fit there is little doubt that the 31-year-old will start between the sticks.
Right-back – Branislav Ivanovic
The Serbian has really developed into a top-class full-back this term and has added a more offensive aspect to a defensive solidity he already had from playing centrally.
Centre-back – Gary Cahill
It was yet another clean-sheet in the league on Saturday as Everton were beaten 1-0 and Cahill is now an established first team player for both club and country.
Centre-back – John Terry
Alongside Cahill is the Blues captain, who has been reinstated back to the starting XI on a permanent basis since the return of Jose Mourinho as manager.
Left-back – Cesar Azpilicueta
Mourinho has been pushing a new system that sees the Spaniard play on the left this term and so far it has worked – to the detriment of Ashley Cole’s playing time.
