Blues look to bring Croatian star to Stamford Bridge by offering one of their own.
Chelsea are said to be preparing a potentially controversial swap deal to sign Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric with popular youngster Oscar heading in the other direction, according to Football Direct News.
Blues boss Jose Mourinho is a big fan of the Croatia international and was the manager that originally brought him to the Bernabeu back in 2012 from Tottenham Hotspur and he is now thought to be keen on reuniting with the player back in London.
Madrid, however, aren’t said to be interested in letting him go unless it is of part of a swap deal with somebody going in the opposite direction and Mourinho will seek to test their resolve by offering up Oscar as part of the swoop.
Reports in Spain have apparently claimed that Mourinho will put the Brazilian forward as part of a player plus cash deal to temp the La Liga giants to part with the former Spurs ace.
Oscar has been interesting Paris Saint-Germain, although Mourinho doubts whether they would be able to afford the player as a result of Uefa’s Financial Fair Play directive.
Oscar has been in fine form this season and the news may not be what the fans wanted to hear, but Mourinho is willing to risk upsetting the Stamford Bridge faithful if it means he can bring Modric on board in his place.
