Oscar and Schurrle also need to prove themselves.
Jose Mourinho is expected to sell one of either Eden Hazard, Oscar or Andre Schurrle this summer and has told the Chelsea trio they need to prove themselves, reports the Telegraph.
Paris Saint-German are thought to be extremely interested in the former two and it’s looking increasingly likely one will be sold to the French champions in the close season.
Oscar started the year as one of the Blues’ best players after being named Mourinho’s first choice No.10 ahead of Juan Mata, but has dropped in form since the New Year.
The manager has suggested that this is because the Brazil international has one eye on the 2014 World Cup in his home country.
Hazard meanwhile openly criticised his own team following the Champions League semi-final defeat to Atletico Madrid on Wednesday and Mourinho responded by stating the Belgian is not a team player.
Finally Schurrle has had a solid if unspectacular start to life in the Premier League, although of the three is the most likely to stay at Stamford Bridge having only spent 12 months in England so far.
It’s understood that Mourinho has told the attacking midfield trio that they need to prove their worth in the remaining two games of 2013/14 and wants to see them give the same sort of work rate as teammate Willian.
After a relatively disappointing return to west London for the Portuguese boss – with his first term back set to end without any silverware – it’s expected to be a busy summer of transfer business for the club.
