Since Liverpool sold Luis Suarez in the summer and spent the incoming transfer fee on an array of signings, with varying success, plenty of criticism has headed in the direction of Rodgers’ record in the transfer market from sections of the media.
Is that entirely fair, however? We take a look at Rodgers’ five worst signings for the club to find out:
5) Mamadou Sakho (Paris Saint Germain, £18m)
Powerful French international centre back Mamadou Sakho came to the club with a big reputation and an even bigger fee from PSG, but he has not come close to justifying wither of those things at Anfield. Rodgers seems reluctant to give Sakho an extended run in the team, which is perhaps even more concerning.
