Spanish giants Barcelona are earmarking young Liverpool prodigy Cameron Branagan as a potential summer signing, reports the Independent.
The 18-year-old has impressed for Liverpool at every youth level, and recently made his first-team debut during an end of season friendly against Shamrock Rovers.
He came on in the middle of the park and displayed his typical composure in possession, and ability to retain the ball when in tight situations.
Brendan Rodgers is known to rate Branagan very highly, and the manager’s penchant for giving young players a chance will surely not have gone unnoticed by the teenager or his family.
Rodgers has already developed Raheem Sterling into a full England international, and has also given chances to the likes of Jordon Ibe and Andre Wisdom – both of whom could be involved in the first-team next term.
Barcelona are of course a draw for every player though, and it remains to be seen whether they’ll cement their interest in the Englishman with a firm offer.
