Schlake deny approach from the Gunners for Huntelaar.
Schalke 04 have denied that Arsenal made a deadline day approach for their star striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.
It was reported that the Gunners made a bid to try and sign the Netherlands international in the latter stages of the window on Monday.
Yet Schalke chief Horst Heldt has revealed that his club did not receive any offers from North London.
“There was no approach from Arsenal or from any other club,” Heldt was quoted by the London Evening Standard.
In the end Arsene Wenger signed Danny Welbeck from Manchester United in a £16m deal and Huntelaar stayed in the Bundesliga.
