5. Angel Di Maria
Like Draxler, Di Maria would be a great option across attacking midfield, with his magic wand of a left foot a guarantee of assists from both open play and set pieces.
Whilst as stated above the Gunners have been linked with Di Maria’s Real Madrid colleague Mesut Ozil, the German’s slender physique and lack of stamina mean that he doesn’t always finish games with the Spanish side, and it remains doubtful if he would adapt to English football.
Di Maria would be a more likely success, and given his experience with the Argentina national side, he would be likely to qualify for a work permit.
6. Josuha Guilavogui
Whilst Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini are likely to be the senior players in the holding role for the next season, AS Saint-Etienne youngster Josuha Guilavogui is a hugely promising talent who became a France international this year.
A calm distributor of the ball and solid when breaking up opposition play, the 22 year-old could be groomed by Flamini and Arteta to eventually succeed them.
The Daily Express reported earlier this week that Arsenal had submitted an £8.5m bid.
