Welbeck jibe at United following Champions League hat-trick.
Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck has sent a thinly veiled jibe in the direction of former club Manchester United, report the Telegraph, after scoring a stunning hat-trick against Galatasaray in the Champions League this week.

United manager Louis van Gaal criticised Welbeck’s goalscoring record for the club after he had allowed him to join Arsenal for £16 million, with Radamel Falcao arriving on loan as a replacement, but Welbeck felt that he was rarely given the chance to shine upfront whilst at Old Trafford:
“Nobody can really criticise my finishing because they don’t really see me playing in a forward position too often. Now I am getting into these positions I want to be sticking the ball in the back of the net.”
“Obviously people can say I’ve not scored enough goals, but you stick the best strikers on the wing in a four-man midfield and see if they score goals.”
Welbeck has also opened his Premier League account for the Gunners, bagging in a comfortable victory at Aston Villa, and will be hoping to add to that when Arsenal face Chelsea this weekend.
