The 25 year-old was sent for an MRI scan this morning in Munich due to pain in his left knee, and Arsene Wenger’s worst fears have been realised.
Ozil has had some mixed performances this term, but at his best he remains a mercurial talent capable of spotting passes few other players in the game could see.
Despite media calls to drop him from the Gunners’ starting XI, Wenger has retained faith in his record signing.
Now though, he will be forced to consider an Arsenal team without Mesut Ozil.
