The Gunners boss heaps praise on the striker.
After scoring four brilliant goals in the Champions League mid-week, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says Paris Saint-Germain’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the best player in the world.
Despite most football fans either naming Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo as their nominee for the position, Wenger says the Sweden international is a cut above currently.
“In this moment, I’d say Zlatan is better than Messi and Ronaldo. At 32, you know how to get the best from your talent,” the 64-year-old was quoted by ITV.
Ibrahimovic has looked in fine form once again for PSG this season, having already netted 11 goals in 14 matches in all competitions – including six in Europe.
This is despite the potentially threatening £55m arrival of South American supremo Edinson Cavani from Napoli in the summer.
The famously egotistical Ibrahimovic has not, as many predicted, reacted badly to the signing of Cavani and has instead perhaps performed even better since the Uruguay international came to Paris.
In a long and highly decorated career the Swede has played in four different countries for the likes of Ajax, Barcelona and Juventus.
During that time the forward has scored an impressive 297 goals in 575 matches for both club and country and looks set for another prolific season with PSG this time around.
Those who read perhaps a little too much into comments such as those from Wenger, could say that the Frenchman is praising Ibrahimovic ahead of taking the managerial position at the Parc des Princes next summer.
