Arsenal have beaten Liverpool to the signing of young goalkeeper Hugo Keto from Finnish side HJK Helsinki, according to reports from the Metro today.
Keto has signed a three-year contract with Arsene Wenger’s side, irritating Liverpool who had seen Keto spend time training with them during last season and had expected the teenager to sign for them this summer.
The young goalkeeper also spent time training at the Emirates Stadium, however, and it appears to be Arsenal who have made the quickest move to sign the agile ‘keeper to a contract at their club.

Rated as one of the finest players to emerge from Finland, he has chose not to follow in the footsteps of his nation’s greatest footballer, Jari Litmanen, who enjoyed a short but successful spell at Anfield before going on to end his career at HJK, comfortably Finland’s biggest club.
Keto will now be looking to emulate Wojciech Szczesny, the current first choice for Arsenal, who established himself in the Gunners’ first team after emerging from the club’s much vaunted youth set-up and spending a short spell on loan in the Football League with Brentford.
