Martinez looks set to join Roma.
FC Porto striker Jackson Martinez is ready to snub Premier League trio Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur and instead complete the £27.5m transfer to AS Roma, reports CaughtOffside.
Roma head coach Rudi Garcia is looking for a long-term replacement for veteran captain Francesco Totti and looks to have stolen a march on the English sides by making early contact with Martinez.
The Colombia international has a £27.5m release clause at the Estadio do Dragao and the Serie A club are prepared to meet that as they look to change things at the Stadio Olimpico.
The Gunners were perhaps the the club from the English top tier in least need of a new forward, with Olivier Giroud, Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck all impressing in attack in recent times.
It is not quite the same story at Anfield or White Hart Lane however, with both the Reds and Tottenham struggling to find players in any form in the final third.
New signings Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert have been poor for Brendan Rodgers and with Daniel Sturridge suffering several injuries this term, Raheem Sterling has been used as a makeshift No.9.
As for Spurs, they have had to rely on youngster Harry Kane for goals as Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado have once again been disappointing.
