Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is interested in bringing German international Lars Bender to the Emirates, according to CalcioMercato.
Bender, 23, has caught the eye with a series of strong displays for Bayer Leverkusen this season and is a regular in Joachim Loew’s national team set-up.
The box-to-box midfielder has made steady progress since joining from 1860 Munich three seasons ago, helping Sami Hyypia’s side to two top four finishes in the past three seasons.
The Bavarian born midfielder could join fellow Germans Lukas Podolski, Per Mertesacker, Serge Gnabry and Thomas Eisfeld at the Emirates but is likely to cost the Gunners upwards of £9m.
