The Indianapolis Colts were eliminated from the playoffs in the AFC Championship by the New England Patriots, who demolished them, 45-7.
Running back Trent Richardson, who has been a bust for the Colts since being acquired for a first-round pick, did not travel with the Colts to play the Denver Broncos or Patriots.
General manager Ryan Grigson has since revealed that the disappointing running back was suspended for two games for personal reasons.
He also said that he would not commit to Richardson returning in 2015, as he was leaped over for the starting job by undrafted rookie Dan Herron after Ahmad Bradshaw suffered a season-ending knee injury.
ESPN NFL Nation and Colts reporter Mike Wells relayed the news on Richardson on Twitter.
Grigson wouldn’t commit to Trent Richardson being back next season. Not surprising he said that.
