In what would be the most expensive double transfer of all time by some distance, Real Madrid are packaging together a £125m deal to bring Liverpool duo Luis Suarez and Coutinho to the Bernabeu, CaughtOffside understands.
The pair have been dazzling for the Reds this term, helping Liverpool top the Premier League table with six games left to play.
Suarez has notched an incredible 29 goals in 27 starts, and leads the top flight’s assists chart as well.
While Coutinho has not been quite so clinical, he has shone in various matches against big sides, enjoying a wonderful afternoon against Arsenal at Anfield, where he completely outshone former Madrid player Mesut Ozil.
Despite battering sides on countless occasions, Real Madrid have slipped up too many times this term – and are only third in La Liga behind Atletico Madrid and Barcelona.
Isco could be leaving, meaning Couintho could arrive as a direct replacement, with Suarez becoming the new superstar figure head of a three pronged attack that would include Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Even for such ludicrous figures, Liverpool would arguably rather keep the pair. However, a move to Real Madrid would undoubtedly be tempting for the South American duo, and it may take another tense summer of negotiations or just flat transfer refusals to encourage them to stay.
