PSG are preparing to make a huge £41.5m bid for the Brazilian ahead of the 2014 World Cup to try and tempt the Blues into selling and the 23-year-old into moving.
Oscar’s national team-mate with Brazil, Lucas Moura – who was a £37m purchase himself in 2012 – has openly admitted that the French league leaders need someone like the midfield ace.
“Oscar is a very good player,” Lucas was quoted by the Daily Star.
“A rare talent in today’s football, given his qualities. He is very complete and is very smart. We need someone like him at PSG.
“I think he would help us a lot. The more quality players there are, the better it is for the squad. Also, he’s a very good friend of mine. I would be very happy if he came to PSG, the club too.”
Jose Mourinho made the Brazil international his preferred No.10 at the start of this season ahead of the popular Juan Mata (who has since been sold to Manchester United) and the South American has reveled in the new role and has 11 goals and nine assists in 41 appearances this term.
As for Hazard, it has been an even more impressive campaign for the Belgian in 2013/14 and according to the Metro PSG are prepared to sanction a £50m bid for the 23-year-old.
This would be the club’s second largest deal if it were to go through behind the £55m they paid Napoli for Edinson Cavani last summer.
With 29 goals and 34 assists in 109 matches since a £32m switch from Lille in 2012 it’s easy to see why the Parisians are so keen to land Hazard – who has been strongly tipped to be a future Ballon d’Or winner.
Another PSG player and former Newcastle United star, Yohan Cabaye, has joined Lucas in speaking openly about signing players from Stamford Bridge.
“Hazard is the player I’d like to see at PSG. He would do a lot of good to Paris and the league. He’s one of the best players against whom I’ve played,” the Frenchman was quoted by ESPN.
