Manchester United boss David Moyes is set to be handed an enormous £150m transfer war chest, and could target PSG’s world-class striker Edinson Cavani, the Daily Star reports.
Ahead of United’s fixture with Chelsea this Sunday afternoon, the Premier League champions are 14 points off top spot, and fans are desperate for January reinforcements.
The Star reckons that with just over ten days until the transfer window closes, United could splash out big money on the superstar striker, who only arrived at PSG in the summer for a whopping £57m.
Since then, he’s scored 16 in all competitions, confirming his reputation as one of the best strikers in world football.
It’s unlikely the Ligue 1 champions will want to sell the Uruguayan, who is apparently unimpressed with the quality of the French league, and wants to prove himself in the most talked about league in the world, like international compatriot Luis Suarez.
If he were to arrive, he would likely become the most expensive ever import into the Premier League, eclipsing Arsenal’s £42m Mesut Ozil deal.
