The young striker is considering his options after being sent on-loan again.
Chelsea starlet Romelu Lukaku was expected to break through at Stamford Bridge this season, before being sent on-loan to Everton on transfer deadline day.
The signing of Samuel Eto’o from Anzhi Makhachkala meant that the Blues couldn’t offer the 20-year-old regular game time and it was decided Goodison Park was the best destination.
It’s the third term Lukaku has spent away from west London since signing for the club for £19m in 2011, after spells with Anderlecht and West Bromwich Albion.
With all this uncertainty regarding the forward’s future at the Bridge, the Belgium international admits it could be the end for the starlet at Jose Mourinho’s side.
“I don’t know,” was Lukaku’s response when asked whether the striker had a future at the Bridge.
“If I can do the same as I did last year, but at a club like Everton and with better statistics, why not?
“We’ll see at the end of the season.”
However, the attacker was much more positive when asked if the Belgian could imagine staying with the Toffees for the long-term and if Lukaku envisaged that future.
“Yeah, you could say that.”
It’s a great coup for manager Roberto Martinez to bring the striker to Merseyside, after the youngster netted 17 Premier League goals last term whilst with West Brom.
Lukaku is yet to feature for the club as the first match since the move was against Chelsea – a tie that Martinez’s side won 1-0 thanks to a goal from Steven Naismith.
