The pair could like up for the first time together against Manchester United.
Now Luis Suarez has finally completed the forward’s 10-match ban for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic, the South American can start playing for Liverpool again.
The Reds haven’t exactly struggled in the Uruguayan’s absence, taking 10 points from a possible 15 so far this term and looking in good form.
Striker Daniel Sturridge has been leading the line instead of Suarez and has continued where the 24-year-old left off last term by scoring four Premier League goals.
Now new signing Kolo Toure has revealed how the defender can’t wait for the duo to link up together in attack for the Merseyside club.
“Suarez’s return is going to be massive for us,” the centre-back told the Liverpool Echo.
“He is a fantastic player – a top striker who can score a goal at any time. He will strengthen the team.
“Daniel Sturridge has been playing so well for us and the two of them will be a very strong partnership.”
Brendan Rodgers’ side failed to maintain their unbeaten record on Saturday, when surprisingly the club lost their first match of the season at home to Southampton.
It was a poor display from a team that had previously recorded victories over Stoke City, Aston Villa and Manchester United and Suarez will probably be a welcome return.
The 26-year-old was the top-scorer at Anfield last campaign with 30 goals in all competitions and if the Uruguay international and Sturridge can strike up a partnership, it could be formidable for any opposition facing Liverpool.
