Brazil star appears to have now played his final-ever game for the club.
Manchester City are willing to let defender Maicon leave this summer, according to reports in the Daily Mail.
The experienced Brail international has only been in the north west for one season now, having originally been signed by previous city head coach Roberto Mancini from Serie A giants Inter Milan for just £3 million last August.
However, it is fair to say that the attacking full back’s debut campaign at City was underwhelming, to say the very least, with the 31-year-old appearing in just 11 fixtures overall in all competitions, contributing only the one assists along the way, while the right back made just seven Premier League appearances all season long.
And now it is understood that new City boss Manuel Pellegribi has deemed Maicon surplus to requirements at City for next season, with the Brazilian now free to find himself a new club this summer now that the transfer window has finally reopened for business once again.
