Teenager to face Liverpool magistrates on Friday.
Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling spent Thursday night in a police cell following an allegation of an assault on Merseyside, reports the Daily Mail.
The 18-year-old is reportedly due to appear before the city’s magistrates on Friday, after being arrested at 10.30pm in the Page Moss suburb of Liverpool.
Sterling’s arrest comes on the same day he was named in Roy Hodgson’s England squad for the friendly against Scotland and is the second time the youngster has faced police action.
The former QPR starlet was questioned under caution in November for a similar allegation, although the case was dismissed earlier this year.
