Arsenal star Jack Wilshere’s smoking scandal has resulted in a lucrative endorsement opportunity by an electronic cigarette company.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger may have frowned upon hearing reports of star midfielder Jack Wilshere smoking, but the England international may yet receive a boost from the tabloid sting.
Electronic cigarette brand Neo offer a healthier option in comparison to the traditional cigarette – though hardly without its faults – and they are keen to capitalise on Wilshere’s predicament.
“As a professional footballer and a role model to millions of young fans, we can understand the controversy caused by Jack puffing on a cigarette,” said Neo Director Estee Oren to the Metro.
“So we have offered him a significant sum today to officially endorse our product as a healthier alternative to smoking.”
With Wilshere highly unlikely to take the option to become a cigarette brand ambassador as a professional athlete, Neo are most likely attempting to take advantage of the free publicity heading their way thanks to articles… like this one.
