Gunners take down banner days after being mocked by Chelsea in Ashley Cole statement.
Arsenal have removed a banner of former captain Cesc Fabregas from outside of the Emirates Stadium.
Fabregas, who left Arsenal to join Barcelona in August 2011, signed for London rivals Chelsea last month, after Arsene Wenger decided against bringing the 27-year-old back to the Gunners.
The Ken Friar Bridge at the Emirates features banners of a host of former Arsenal greats, including Charlie George, Dennis Bergkamp and Tony Adams, but Fabregas is no longer among them.
Chelsea had a dig at Arsenal on their official club website earlier this week in an article that wished farewell to Ashley Cole.
Cole, who is leaving Chelsea on a free transfer, joined the Blues from Arsenal in 2006 and won one Premier League title, four FA Cups, one League Cup, one Champions League and one Europa League with the Stamford Bridge side.
The article included the line: “Arsenal without Cole did not lift silverware until this year’s FA Cup final a week after he played his final Chelsea game.”
