Sir Alex Ferguson and Cristiano Ronaldo; a combination which will evoke happier memories from Manchester United fans and remind them that things have not always been so…boring.
The pair who helped the Red Devils dominate the late 2000s seemed to really be enjoying each other’s company on the red carpet at the Leicester Square film premiere of Ronaldo’s eponymous this week.
Ferguson’s face is lit up! He appears absolutely thrilled to be reunited with a player who fired United to three Premier League titles and the Champions League towards the back end of his 27-year reign.
Old Trafford has not seen many smiles that wide since the Scotsman retired in 2013. David Moyes’s tenure was nothing short of a disaster and even Louis van Gaal has had his critics.
Among them have been former United greats and Ferguson fledglings such as Paul Scholes, who according to The Mirror, has accused the Dutchman’s side – fourth in the table – of being “boring”.
It does not appear as though Ronaldo, now smashing records at Real Madrid as well as trying to break Hollywood with his autobiographical movie, will be returning to United to bring back the good times.
As the Daily Express reports, his agent Jorge Mendes has insisted that the Portuguese will finish his career at Real Madrid despite recent speculation linking Ronaldo with a return to Old Trafford.
