Clippers down Warriors in high-scoring affair.
There were just two games in the NBA on Thursday night, but both were full of drama and impressive individual performances with Derrick Rose and Chris Paul amongst the stars.
Over in the Eastern Conference, two rivals met at the United Center where the Chicago Bulls were finally able to welcome back hometown hero Rose after a year-and-a-half on the sidelines.
While the explosive point guard did disappoint during the early stages of the game, he ensured the supporters left the arena delighted after he floated home a game-winning shot with just five seconds left on the clock to seal a 82-81 win over the New York Knicks.
The 25-year-old ended the game with 18 points, while Luol Deng, Carlos Boozer and Jimmy Butler all had double figures on the night, with Carmelo Anthony leading the way for the visitors with 22 points.
Meanwhile, in the Western Conference there was a point guard clinic put on by Paul as he had 15 assists, 6 steals and 42 points as the Los Angeles Clippers overcame the Golden State Warriors 126-115.
There was also a notable performance from Blake Griffin, while Stephen Curry ensured the point guards stole the show with 38 points of his own for the visitors.
However, it wasn’t enough for Golden State to seal their second win in a matter of days in Los Angeles, and they will now look ahead to facing the Sacramento Kings on Sunday.
