Jose Mourinho is sitting in a hotel room somewhere near the Britannia Stadium, helpless, having seen his Chelsea side go a goal down at Stoke City thanks to this acrobatic Marko Arnautovic effort.
The outspoken Blues boss is serving a stadium ban following an abusive rant at referee Jonathan Moss during Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat by West Ham United earlier this month, as BBC Sport reports.
He missed Stoke break the deadlock after 53 minutes. Xherdan Shaqiri slipped a delightful ball through for Glen Johnson, whose cross was eventually converted by Arnautovic at the back post.
There were a few Mourinho imposters in the stands, with the Potters supports taking the opportunity to have a laugh at the Portuguese’s expense by wearing masks sporting the Special One’s face.
Defeat for the Premier League champions this evening would be their seventh in 12 top-flight games this season, and would leave them 16th in the table, only three points above the relegation zone.
