Tottenham player ratings as ruthless guests brush aside woeful Newcastle.
Tottenham thrashed Newcastle United 4-0 at St James’ Park to keep the pressure on fourth placed Liverpool.
Here are our Spurs player ratings from the match:
Hugo Lloris: 9/10
After keeping Spurs in the game against Everton, the Frenchman was once again in inspired form, keeping Newcastle at bay with a string of top saves. His stop from Mathieu Debuchy’s header was the pick of the bunch.
Kyle Walker: 8
The full-back overlapped brilliant to support Mousa Dembele, who was playing an unfamiliar right wing role.
Kyle Naughton: 6
A solid display from the right footer, who was filling in on the left for the concussed Danny Rose.
Younes Kaboul: 9
The Frenchman was making his first appearance since 24 November but looked as though he had never been away. A brilliant performance.
Jan Vertonghen: 8
In Michael Dawson’s absence, Vertonghen was named captain for the night and the Belgian put in a measured display, as usual.
