Welsh winger was the stand-out performer in the top flight last campaign.
Tottenham Hotspur have received a huge boost with the news that key playmaker Gareth Bale will definitely be staying at White Hart Lane for at least one more season.
The hugely-talented Wales international has just enjoyed another sensational campaign for the north London club, culminating with the midfield player being crowned the double Footballer of the Year.
However, despite his inspired form in front of goal for Andre Villas-Boas’s side, Tottenham still failed to finish the campaign in the top four of the Premier League, and so will not be competing in next season’s Uefa Champions League.
As a result, rumours have been rife of late that the 23-year-old, who has a contract at Spurs that runs until June 30 2016, would quit the club when the transfer window reopens at the start of next month.
However, that is not now believed to be the case after the wide man informed both his Portuguese boss and chairman Daniel Levy that he would remain in the capital for at least one more season.
And this is because the winger has just had a young baby girl and his partner wants to remain close to her family support system in the UK and with Levy determined not to sell the player to a rival top-flight club, that means Bale staying at the Lane, for now.
