Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are on high alert after SC Freiburg striker Papiss Demba Cisse revealed he would be interested in a transfer to the Barclays Premier League.
The Senegal international scored 22 goals in the Bundesliga last season, catapulting his name into the European elite, and it is believed that Magpies boss Alan Pardew and his Spurs counterpart Harry Redknapp lead the queue for Cisse’s signature.
“We will see what will happen. Everything remains open,” Cisse said in an interview with French newspaper L’Equipe.
“I am attracted by England or a big German club. But I don’t forget that my club allowed me to launch my career.
“They have always trusted me, even when I experienced difficulties when I first joined the club.”
