Although Arsenal were hampered by injury problems and Sheffield Wednesday were fortunate to end the first half with 11 men, there is no hiding the fact that the Gunners have been thoroughly outplayed by their Championship opponents in the opening 45 minutes of tonight’s Capital One Cup tie.
Wednesday’s first goal – scored by Ross Wallace – was exactly the type of strike Arsenal have become famous for scoring themselves in recent years.
This fabulous one-touch move left Arsenal’s defenders chasing shadows, while Wallace’s finish was absolutely top-class.
The Owls are playing Arsenal at their own game and winning.
Can they hold on for a place in the quarter-finals?
