The World Cup winner looked certain to make the switch to the Emirates over the summer, but with the two clubs reaching an agreement over the fee it was Khedira’s wage demands that ended up sinking the deal.
Arsene Wenger is still interested in the German international however, and it looks like he could get his man in January.
He will face competition from the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, and Bayern Munich, but will hope that having former Real Madrid star and international teammate Mesut Ozil at the club will help the Los Blancos star to make a decision.
The 27-year-old is yet to sign a contract extension at the Bernabeu, with his current deal expiring at the end of the season.
Madrid are looking to cash in on him while they still have the chance, and are therefore willing to take just £6m for him if a deal can be done.
